John Anderson made it. FilePad for the newton has its own SourceForge page!

Ahh. The precious threads that make the Newton community unique.
from NewtonTalk

Again the Newton is mentioned in a *big* site. The writer gives what, I think, would be our exact answer.

woooohooo!!! Eckhart Koeppen got an "OK" from his phone as an answer to an "AT" command!! What's up with that?, you ask... It was with an IrCOMM connection!! Newton Never Dies... Not while people like Eckhart are here to make this magic!

The Independent Newton Support (german) and backlight.ch are working in a Backlight replacement project for the newton. Looks like this isn't new, but, well, *I* didn't know!

Hehe, somehow crazyapplerumors.com learned that Adam Tow is making a SIMS port for the newton. There's even a screenshot!

For this StowAway keyboard interfacing project i got involved, I needed a keyboard. So there I went to the saturday's flea market in my city to find what has to be the cutest keyboard for the newton.

As you see, in the package was a no-brand PDA, the keyboard the user manual and, what a luck!, a TTL to RS-232 converter! Everything for 5 Euros!

What i like of this keyboard is that it's almost the same width as the newton.

I plan on making a special hinge for replacing the regular screen cover with it.

I found its protocol in a few minutes. 9600 bps, 8 data bits, no parity bit and 1 stop bit. It needs to be sent 10 "ú" characters every 30 seconds to keep it on. Because it has its own button battery. And more! it even has an integrated FM radio!
