This is a log of thoughts and events from my homestay in Japan
during
the summer of 2002. I kept the notes on my trusty Newton MP2100 and
mailed them back to mdxi, whereupon he marked them up and put them
here.
They are unedited except that he has added small editorial notes where
he
felt that people unfamiliar with aspects of Japanese culture might have
