I woke up again with a sore throat. More sore than yesterday. I didn't know that I was talking funny until I met Sarah much later on.
When I got up, it was raining. The weather report had predicted clouds. I took my umberlla and not my hat. I'd taken both yesterday and hadn't needed either one. Once again, the weather fucked me over. There was no rain and plenty of sun. And, of course, I am sunburned. I'll probably get little sores and scabs for the next month, after they finally healed from the last time.
Anyway, I met Sarah at 10. I knew the store would be closed, but she insisted that it would be open. It was closed. From there, we had yummy doughnuts at a chain called "Mr. Donut". Then we rode the streetcar to the end of the line, which is an area called Yunokawa. This is quite far from everything else, but there are many stores there that aren't anywhere else. First off was a used cd and game store. It had hentai games and pr0n on various other media everywhere. Did you know that there were lots of hentai games made for Dreamcast? I think I did but forgot. I came really close to buying a GBA, but I was afraid it wouldn't play US games, although I heard they were region free.
From there, we walked. And walked. And walked, stopping in various stores along the way. I actually didn't spend a lot of money today, which is good. About the only thing of interest we found was a MacDonold's. It had been months since I'd last ate at one and it was absolutely wonderful. We stayed for quite a while since we were both rather tired. After we'd been there a while, I noticed that the whole restaurant was backwards from our own because the drive-thru went clockwise instead of counter-clockwise. Everything is backwards here!
From MacDonald's it was another long walk to Goryokaku area and Sarah went home and I got on a streetcar and then the train. I was nearly home when host mom met me in her car and picked me up. I don't know why, but it seemed that she was out looking for me. She hadn't taken off her apron, so I didn't think she'd been planning to go into any store.
By dinnertime, I was dead tired and my throat was hurting pretty badly, so I went to bed really early. I watched a bit of a really good Miyazaki animated film [Miyazaki Hayao, one of the masters of Japanese animation. Among his accomplishments are the Totoro series, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Mononoke-hime] before passing out.
